Bird of Prey Photography Workshop with Richard Taylor-Jones
A very special opportunity to meet and photograph some extraordinary birds of prey - up close and in flight.
On our specially designed ‘Wild Weekend’ workshop participants will get expert advice from leading local wildlife photographer and TV presenter Richard Taylor-Jones (BBC Countryfile, The One Show, Springwatch). Richard has been working in the field for almost 20 years and has in-depth knowledge of both natural history and all forms of camerawork.
The small group size means you will get lots of one to one time with Richard. We recommend early booking due to limited availability.
£80 per person.
Participants must be aged 13 or over. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Bird of Prey Experience
Get an insight into the beautiful world of falconry with our special hands-on workshop facilitated by the experienced Sky Bird of Prey team. Enjoy spending time and flying different birds of prey in the beautiful countryside around Betteshanger.
After meeting your professional falconer, you’ll get straight in and hands on with our wonderful birds. Your falconer will give you a detailed insight into every bird’s physical features, hunting skills and natural behaviours, as well as teaching you the basic handling skills you will be using throughout the session.
Once your initial insight has concluded, it’s gloves on and time for you to take charge of these magnificent birds. You’ll be taken into the Park where you’ll have the chance to see what they are truly capable of. You’ll experience the hawks flying majestically, following you from tree to tree, as well as the seeing the owls fly silently through the air. You'll be calling them to the glove to feed.
The small group size means you get plenty of one to one time with the instructors and the birds.
Sessions run at 11am and 1.30pm and last for 2 hours.
Participants must be aged 8 or over. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
