At Betteshanger we aim to provide our visitors with the opportunity to learn and the Kent Mining Museum is no exception to this. We actively encourage learning by doing, and believe that active learning through hands-on exploration and play is the best way to develop independence, promote curiosity and discover more about the world around us.
We strive to meet a diverse range of learning needs and styles through our learning programme and by utilising our unique outdoor environment.
Once open, the Museum will deliver a comprehensive learning programme with strong curriculum links and a range of workshops, projects and experiences to appeal to formal and informal learners of all ages whilst also catering to different learning and teaching strategies.
The full learning programme for the Museum is currently under development but we would be happy to discuss any requests from schools and learning providers.
Just a quick note to say what a fantastic activities day our school had. An all action game of archery tag in the woods to start with, followed by some exciting mountain biking afterwards. The staff for the activities were helpful and brilliant with the pupils.
The children had a fantastic time and they all left with huge smiles on their faces.
